http://tenbyten.org is a site designed by Jonathan Harris of http://www.number27.org/. He uses computer science and visual arts as the base for his online projects and 10X10 is one of them.
The site uses a ten by ten grid to give a snapshot of the hourly news. This snapshot is then saved and kept on the time line forever and for many years to come, creating a trend line on how human thoughts, behaviour and news changes over time.

"History of Internet" from Microsoft point of view shown in a hilarious video as in the link below
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/internet-explorer/nethistory/#fbid:AugYF_XVbeh
This was funny and made me laugh a few times. The truth about friend and friendship via social networks was a bitter one to hear about. The fact that you think of someone in a way and then you connect with them via facebook, or so and suddenly you see status updates that you do not expect!
Well Internet truly is moving fast, but our unlimited free data that we provide will be gathered in 35 million Euro databases and who knows, it could be used against us one day, may be not by Earthlings, but by intelligence beyond Earth!

IE7-js is a Java Script Library that is created to resolve the issues with previous versions of Internet Explorer, IE6 and IE 5. These versions have many issues handling HTML and CSS , which means developers have to write extra code, so that people who are still using these browsers can use their sites.
Despite the fact that previous versions of Internet Explorer should now be replaced with the newest up to date versions, but many users opted to keep their old browser due to lack of knowledge on how to update, or personal preferences.
The issue here with IE7-js is, although it helps the developers to write less code and worry less about the incompatibility with older versions of IE, it is written in Java Script and as the older versions of IE, and I am not confident about newer versions either, have serious security issues, most of users have actually disabled the Java Script on these browsere, which eventually means these JS library is no use fot this groups.
So developers eventually have to hack their CSS and HTML to handle the incompatibilities without using Java Script! Pity.

Well, if you are a web surfer, you would know You Tube, but it is interesting to know that the competition is on:
Here is a list of some other video sites:

"How does he take his sugar" was the phrase used on those days, where the facilities and conditions available for disable people were minimum.
On the century that we live, accessibility is a very important factor of any design and when it comes to web design, it has become very important and part of many legislations that the sites have to be as accessible for able users as they are for disable users.
There are some simple design rules that any designer can follow to make their sites accessibility maximised.
One is when using links, do not just say, "click here", but actually have a readable link in English or whatever language the site is written in.
Do not use pictures without using the relevant tags, i.e always use the description tags for all the images used on the site.
Do not rely on colour or text format to give away information. For example don't say, click on the blue text, or hover over the left side picture!
Always separate the contents from the view, so that if the style is turned off, the site HTML is available.
Always use correct headings, such as h1, h2, h3. This will make it easy for navigation, if the user decides to tab through the headings to choose the desired one.
And finally try to access our site without mouse and if you cannot do it, it is not accessible!
I will write more about accessibility soon.

While searching on the web, I came across Flickr search tool. This tool is developed by Nathan Siemers http://fiveprime.org/, and you can access it via http://fiveprime.org/flickr_hvmnd.cgi.
This picture search tool, uses Flickr API to search images by date, user, category, tag, text and more. You can also log into Flickr via this page.
Go to Hive Mind and enjoy a beautifully designed web page with powerful search capabilities.

It is too good to be true! One box to do it all! Google Chrome browser Auto Search, URL and suggestion as well as having all your favourites in hand! And so this box does do it all and does more!
If you have not turned the auto suggest off(on by default), then whatever you type in the box, will be saved into the Google's server, likely along with the ip address of your machine!
This means if you are searching for asset, the search engine omnibox, may save your ip address along with the word ass if you decide not to bother with typing asset and stop half way through to start type something else!

Site http://www.citywestwater.com.au/calculator/ has used Google Chart APIs to show the result of the calculation, made by answering a series of questions regarding the amount of water used in a household, to display the result by a pie chart.
Have a look and calculate your water usage! There will be tips produced at the end to help you save water too.

Recently I had a problem with Dreamweaver CS3 crashing whenever I wanted to open a form. Delete the WinFileCache-7A9586CB.dat, MacFileCache-BFE7CE2E.dat, or FileCache.dat file from the Dreamweaver user configuration folder. It is recommended to delete the FileCache.dat file if you are experiencing a JavaScript error related to "dwscripts" or if you are receiving a "translators were not loaded" error message. The string of characters after "FileCache-" may differ on your machine. The location of the FileCache.dat file depends your operating system and your version of Dreamweaver. Note that on Windows, the Application Data and AppData folders are hidden by default, so verify that your Windows Explorer folder options are set to View Hidden Folders.
Googling this, I found out that the problem is created by a corrupt cache file. Deleting this file removed the issue and I now can open and amend my forms without crashing.
There is a very good knowledge base page on Adobe website for troubleshooting all sorts of issues. Click here to see this url.
Section 4 of this file was what I found to be the solution to my troubles. Here is the section entirely copied from the above knowledge base link in Adobe's website."4. Delete FileCache.dat files from the Dreamweaver user configuration folder.

Travel galaxies with Google Sky.
It is amazing to sit at your desk at home with no spaceship or even a telescope and travel the dark and vast universe, hop between galaxies and meet unknown stars.
Tonight I just did that. While sightseeing the world on Google Earth, I discovered a feature I did not know about. The little icon said "Switch between Earth and Sky" on top menu bar of the Google Earth.
Once switched, I instantly travelled to a galaxy known as M101 or Pinwheel Galaxy. This galaxy is 27 million light years away from us, residing in Ursa Major.
Download Google Earth and travel the universe in no time.

Here we go, another browser added to the world of internet browsing, but this time, i anticipate something of the "Take Over the World" nature, something of a great power waiting to happen and watch us all, everything we look at, all we desire to read about, all we love to watch, or see, all of our habits, such as shopping, reading, sports, arts and so much that I can say, even all our feelings and desires.
Google Chrome logo speaks to us, looks at us, and says in a very dark voice, "you are mine!". As we see in our dark rooms behind our cold desks, with the world going downward in a crazy spin, we tab into the internet for news, for friendship, for communication and for love! And "Google" gives it all to us for free: browser, email, chat, maps, applications made of many mash ups, films, pictures, games, shopping on line, calendar, documents, presentations, databases, video conferencing, ....
And we sit at our desks with the eye of our web cams connecting us to whoever is watching. There will be no privacy, no freedom in the future, We will be all prisoners of technology and brains who control them.
Happy Chrome folks. I love it as you do. We will all do, because it gives us what we want. It deserves to be the one and the only, and we deserve to be its slaves.
And by the way, read more about Google Chrome, technical advantages in my next post.

You can design your web page with curves using Photoshop/Illustrator. To do this,
- Draw your desired curve on the paper
- Select the Pen Tool and click on a starting point
- To create straight lines, just click on the next point
- To create a curve, from the starting point drag the mouse towards your desired direction to create a handlebar.
- Always finish by joining back to your starting point
- To adjust, select the Direct Selection Tool and move the points or handlebars until you get the desired curve.

The interface that user will interact in any web page is one of the important factors that has to be seriously considered by a web designer. There are many ways to create this interface, and one of these ways, which has increases in popularity is using Cascading Style Sheets, CSS.
A CSS file separates the contents of a page from its layout, giving the designer the opportunity to optimise the design for scalability and reusability.
Separate CSS files can be created to present a web page for different layouts separately suitable for printing, or viewing via a mobile device as well as the normal viewing via a web browser.
CSS files also can tackle browser compatibility issues by adding the extra code that handles viewing in different browsers such as IE, Firefox or Opera.
Designers can change the layout of the whole website in seconds by changing one parameter in the CSS file, such as body background picture, or the format of the fonts.
To see an example of a site I have developed purely by using CSS, have a look at Integral Net Systems.
I will write more about CSS soon. If you are interested subscribe to my feed to be the among the first people who get updated with more Web and Graphic Design Articles, News, Tips and Tricks.
